Description

Fremont Older Open Space Preserve is a popular destination for mountain bikers in the South Bay. The rolling hills of the preserve offer intermediate and advanced level mountain bikers with approximately 15 miles of trail network to explore. The staging area at the end of Prospect Road offers an easier ride to the summit of the preserve while the trailhead at Stevens Creek County Park rewards MTB riders with a 1/2 mile 600 foot elevation gain to the top via the Coyote Ridge Trail. |

15 miles of trail network. Hours: 1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset. Trail Conditions: The entire trail network is dirt. The trails can be muddy after periods of rain. Most of the trails are two-way. Cost: Parking fee collected year-round at Stevens Creek County Park. Free parking at Prospect Road entrance. |

Fremont Older Open Space Preserve is adjacent to Stevens Creek Reservoir/County Park near Cupertino. To get there, take highway 280 and take the Foothill Expressway exit. Turn southbound onto Foothill Expwy and continue to follow it into the foothills for approximately two miles. Turn left into Steven's Creek County Park for ample parking at the trailhead. A parking fee is collected at this location year-round. Parking is also available at the end of Prospect Road on the other side of the preserve. To get there, take highway 85 to the De Anza Blvd exit. Drive southbound on De Anza Blvd, then westbound on Prospect Road. As Prospect Road turns north into Stelling, continue along Prospect (continue west across the railroad tracks). Follow Prospect Road for about two miles to the end, near Saratoga Country Club.
